Maternity Must Haves

Sharing some of my favorite maternity items…

1. Stanley Cup. I know, I know basic as it comes but it does make me drink water. Something I have never ever liked.

2. Good Pillows. Silly right. But sleep is already hard enough to come by so I am not skimping on the pillows. These are soft but still firm enough that you don’t sink all the way to the mattress.

3. Maternity T-shirts. No one likes looking like Winnie the Poo and with the style being cropped tops, aka missing the bottom half, a good maternity T is a requirement.

4. Back to hydration… liquid IV. I love the lemon lime flavor and it really does make me feel better. I have had crazy headaches this pregnancy and the extra boost of electrolytes has been a game changer for me. Also, I know liquid IV does sometimes get a bad wrap for their sugar content but for me, this makes it drinkable and something I can stomach so well worth it!

5. Magnesium lotion at bedtime. I have had terrible restless leg at night and this has made a huge difference. Just a little bit on my feet and legs at bedtime has helped me to feel a little more refreshed in the morning.

6. Oversized jumpsuit romper things! This is similar to the free people giant adult romper but without the price. I have it in a couple colors and the shorts version on the way. I am obsessed!

What are some of your maternity must haves? Anything I am missing that will make this hot hot hot summer even better with a big belly?!

Try Again…

Writing has always been something I have enjoyed yet don’t always find time for. There is always something. A child to feed, work, time with friends and family, a mess to clean up…. You name it, it seems to get in the way. That being said, here we are again…starting over on this silly blog that I think about on a very regular basis but am always saying, yes, tomorrow I will start again….over and over and over again! But today is that tomorrow and here I am so….

Hello Friends! How are you?! Like I said, I have missed writing and keeping you updated on all the things in my life. So for this first post, I’ll keep it simple and re introduce myself for the nearly 1,000th time!

My name is Kathryn. I am a registered nurse living with my family in Huntersville, NC. My husband, Tyler, and I have been married since October of 2020. Charlie, our wonderful and happy daughter was born in October of 2022 and we are expecting a baby boy this November (yes, Irish twins…things are about to get real crazy). Ash, our fur son is 7 years old and the most handsome, gray faced, lovable dog we could ask for. I do as best I can between navigating being a full time nurse, wife, and mother to stay active and eat relatively healthy. These days it consists of walking several times a week and as far as eating goes….well we try our best to follow the 80-20 rule, 80% pretty good and 20% well we tried! Take out happens more than I would like to admit and pregnancy food aversions have made eating healthy a challenge but like I said, we try!

I hope you will join me as I get this thing up and running for the bazillionth time!

Kathryn
